In the PADI Open Water Diver course, your PADI Instructor takes you through the basics of learning how to scuba dive. You start in a pool or pool-like conditions and progress to the open water (ocean, lake, quarry, etc.) getting the background knowledge along the way.

• Prerequisites: 10 for Junior Open Water Diver (UK) and 15 for Open Water Diver. Good health,
reasonable fitness and comfort in the water.
• Materials You’ll Need: PADI Open Water Crew-Pak, PADI Open Water Video or DVD, Log Book.
• Equipment you’ll use during the course includes: mask, fins, snorkel, tank, regulator, buoyancy
compensator, submersible pressure gauge and exposure protection as required by the local environment.

Pool Dives are provided at James Brindley High School on a Friday evening, however, we can with prior knowledge schedule for other nights or weekends.
The theory can be completed either in a classroom enviroment one evening per week over the length of the course, or via home study with your own personal Instructor assigned to you via phone to help with any queries. On completion of the reading and knowledge reviews you will attend either 2 half day classroom session or 1 full day to complete the theory training and exam.
Price
The course price is £199.00 which includes your Theory training/exams, pool sessions and open water dives. All equipment hire is included in the price.
You will need a manul Manual, Log Book and Certification (£60.00).
For the self study option, you also need the PADI Open Water DVD, which cost £18.95, If the DVD is returned at the end of the course we will exchange it for a £18.95 gift voucher to use in the Dive Centre.
The only other cost is your Dive Site entry fees which are currently £12.00 per day plus membership fee at Capernwray.
